Introduction
PTE is the Pearson Test of English. You can either appear for the General or Academic test. PTE Academic test is considered for Australian and New Zealand visa purposes. Many of the USA and Canadian universities also accept the scores for admissions to various courses. From this year the United States is accepting PTE scores for immigration purposes.

The PTE Academic test lasts for approx 3 hours and it is completely a computer-based test. The test is held at various authorized testing centres. The respective PTE testing centre will provide you with a computer, headphone, erasable notepad and pens/pencils for the test duration. Examinees can take notes whenever they want during the test. About 10 to 30 students can give the test simultaneously in the same room. The test is self-paced so every student can start or end the test at their own will, but the test usually starts when everyone is ready to go to the testing room. Electronic gadgets like mobile phones or other personal items are left out at the personal lockers provided by the testing centre.
